USA picks a their first win of the Olympics as they blew out France

The French basketball team is full of NBA names: Boris Diaw, Nicolas Batum, and of course Tony Parker. The first quarter ended with the French trailing by just 1 point. But that was not nearly enough compared to the what the United States threw out there. Kevin Durant led the way with 22 points and 9 rebounds. The New York area was well-represented in this game, since Tyson Chandler had 8 points and 9 rebounds while Deron Williams had 6 assist. Melo was also a factor, with 9 points and 9 rebounds in just 17 minutes.

Now the main problem for France was shockingly Tony Parker. Parker, an MVP candidate this past season, had 4 turnovers and just 1 assist. 1 assist from a player that many consider to be the best point guard in the game. Of course you could say that Parker didn’t have many quality players to pass to. But Diaw and Batum have both been in the NBA for quite a bit of time, that excuse is invalid. Parker will need to pick things up if France hopes to make it out of group play.
