Syracuse will ditch the Big East for the ACC in 2013, but it will cost them
Keywords: syracuse, acc, big east

The Big East has been having a rough time of it lately. A few of their top basketball schools are bolting for the much more storied ACC. Normally a team would have to wait two years before being able to depart, but the Syracuse Orange are paying an early departure fee. The Orange will drop $7.5 million in order to jump to the ACC for the start of the 2013 season. Now for those that remember, back in 2003 Cuse won the NCAA tournament led by Carmelo Anthony. But unlike Melo, the Orange will not be showcased in Madison Square Garden anymore as they head out of the Big East.
