Kevin Garnett opts against retirement, sign 3 year deal

Keywords: kevin garnett, celtics

Kevin Garnett spent the past few weeks contemplating retirement. And once he made his decision, he went big, signing a 3 year extension with the Boston Celtics. KG took about a 50% pay cut to return to Boston, although his contract for $36 million made him the highest grossing player in NBA history. Money aside, this is all about Garnett and his loyalty.

As much of a dirty player KG is, you cant forget how committed he is to his teams. If Boston had not wanted Garnett back, I am positive he would have opted for retirement. He wants to finish things out in Boston and continue to try to get them championships. Now with the Heat in play for Ray Allen that might not be too easy, but the effort is there from KG, as it always has been.
