Both the New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks will be represented in this years All Star Game. Carmelo Anthony will be starting for the Eastern Conference squad while Deron Williams of the Nets will come off the bench.

What will be interesting to see is the play between Deron and Magic center Dwight Howard. Howard has openly stated he wants out of Orlando, listing New Jersey as his prime destination. The Nets will be moving to Brooklyn and will need some extra star power if they hope to have any chance of taking New York from the Knicks. If the Nets fail to acquire Howard, they may also end up losing Williams. Deron is a free agent and is almost guaranteed to walk away if he doesn’t have another super star in town.

Most of the names on both rosters are the same old suspects. Some newer faces include Loul Deng, Roy Hibbert, and Andre Igoudala. First timers from the west are Andrew Bynum, who is starting at center, Lamarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol, and Russell Westbrook. Twolves star Kevin Love was also named to the reserve squad, although he is currently no playing in the association due to his stomp on the face of Luis Scola. The suspension will however be over long before the All Star festivities begin.
